Make Security Deposit of $150 into our Bank Account (this is for your accomodation)

Placing a deposit is your method of confirming your place and your intentions to reside at our property. If you decide you do not wish to reside and request a cancellation due to a change of mind there will be an administration charge of up to $50 . 

Our rent is currently priced as follows:

  • $230pw per person for a dorm (Central Building)

  • $230pw per person for a dorm (North Building)

In order to secure your place we do require payment of the deposit prior to check in 😊

The deposit amount is $150 per person.

Once payment has been made please send a screenshot to us by email (checkin@tomatobackpackers.com.au) and we will contact you to confirm your booking and confirm the checkin date upon receipt of the deposit into our account 😄


FAQs and Additional Information

There are no guaranteed jobs. All jobs are subject to availability and are allocated by our work manager. Our jobs included packing sheds, planting, picking, weeding, preparing fields and general farm hand positions. 

All of our jobs are hourly paid at $26.73 or higher plus 10.5% superannuation. Some jobs also have overtime and penalty rates if you are eligible💰

 Job availability changes throughout the seasons so we cannot always guarantee which jobs are available when you check in 🙂. We also cannot guarantee hours either but we will always do our best to ensure you are placed into jobs which provide 35+ hours a week minimum. Some jobs go up to 55 hours per week or sometimes more! 

Our work varies and as much there is field work, shed work, picking, packing, planting, digging and weeding work. We will always do our best to get you in to a job of your preference but we can’t always do this 🙂 

If you are unhappy with a job we will try our best to move you to a more suitable one but sometimes this takes a few days 😊

All of our jobs are 2nd and 3rd year eligible, so as long as you work enough days you will be sure to get your visa! 😁

 Check in is Monday – Friday and starts at 10am and ends at 8pm 🕗  If you would like to check in outside of these hours please let us know so we can see if arrangements can be made🙂

We are a very basic hostel and we only supply you with a bed sheet and mattress protector, you will need to supply your own cooking utensils and bedding 🛌 🍳  

We do have second hand cooking equipment and bedding (that’s been washed) that’s available, but we cannot guarantee every item you need will be there 🙂 it is $2 per bedding item and $3 total for any kitchen utensils and equipment you need 😊
